Fees - Denplan
Denplan is a monthly payment plan created to help you to spread the cost of the essential routine care for your mouth, thus giving you peace of mind.
Q Is Denplan Care an insurance scheme?
No. Denplan Care is a care contract that allows your dentist to provide on-going preventive dental care. However, Denplan also arranges on your behalf mandatory Supplementary Insurance to contribute towards the cost of treatment required as a result of a dental injury or dental emergency.
Q When will my Denplan Care contract start?
Your dentist will arrange a start date for your Denplan Care contract. This date will be entered onto your contract and will always fall on the first day of the month. Your Supplementary Insurance and Denplan Insurance Services will start on the same date in accordance with your application.
Q How will the benefits of Denplan Care differ from the dental care I have been receiving?
Under Denplan Care, the emphasis is placed on preventive dental care. This means that your dentist will work towards stopping dental problems before they occur. This will help improve and maintain your dental health. Your Denplan dentist will explain your particular care and treatment needs.
Q How much does it cost?
As individual dentists set their own fees, there is no set cost. It can also depend on the category you have been placed in by your dentist, based on the state of your oral health and the amount of treatment you require. Please note there is a registration fee debited within the first month of your contract to cover Denplan's initial costs of administration. This is a one off payment equivalent to your monthly fee.
Q How is my fee category determined?
Your Denplan dentist determines your fee category. This is based on your existing dental condition. Your dentist may have completed the 'Oral Check' section on your assessment form. If so, this will highlight the scoring system used as a basis.
Q Are there any discounts available?
Yes. Where more than one member of a family/ group is registered with any Denplan dentist at one practice, the following discounts apply:
- 2 family/group members - 5%
- 3 family/group members - 10%
- 4 or more family/group members - 15%
The Supplementary Insurance and Denplan Insurance Services fees are not affected by any of the above discounts.
Please note: all payments must be collected using the same method of payment (Direct Debit), and all correspondence will be sent to the payer's address.
Q What are my payment options?
You can choose to pay your subscription monthly by Direct Debit, or annually in advance either by Direct Debit, cheque or by credit card to Denplan. Annual payments are calculated on a calendar year basis.
Q Who am I in contract with?
For the dental care you receive under Denplan Care you are in contract with your dentist. For the Supplementary Insurance element you are in contract with AXA PPP healthcare limited and you are in contract with Denplan for the Denplan Insurance Services.
